By means of an interface to the fire alarm system, the guidance system is part of the fire control matrix. In case of danger, the system is informed which smoke detector respectively which smoke detector loop has detected the hazardous situation. Corresponding to the matrix, which may be programmed individually, the dynamic signals show the way to the ideally situated safe area.

An event of fire is never static. By spreading of smoke, the dangerous situation may reach further units in very short time. In this case the system responds in an event- driven way to further information from the fire alarm system and implements these according to the matrix. The time for self-rescue is shortened considerably by the distinct and intuitively understandable information.

Another obvious advantage is the installation in the floor. Even in a situation of heavy smoke the signals are still clearly visible, which is also a positive aspect for the rescuers with regard to optimum orientation.
